Converters cover 40+ major world cities. Each city pair has a dedicated page with a live clock and an hour-by-hour table.

How an Amsterdam Time Zone Converter Works

Pick a target city from the dropdown above the live Amsterdam clock. The converter does three things:

  1. Shows the current offset: "Amsterdam is 6 hours ahead of New York right now."
  2. Displays an hour-by-hour grid, Amsterdam time on the left, target city time on the right, for the next 24 hours.
  3. Highlights the best calling windows. Green rows mark overlap between standard business hours (09:00 to 17:00) in both cities.

The tool reads current IANA time zone data. You never need to know whether Amsterdam is on CET or CEST, or whether New York is on EST or EDT.

When Amsterdam vs New York Flips to 5 Hours

DST transition gaps are automatic in every converter. The gaps exist because the US and the EU change their clocks on different dates.

The US springs forward on the second Sunday of March. The EU springs forward on the last Sunday of March. For one to two weeks in March, Amsterdam is 5 hours ahead of New York, not 6. The converter shows the shift without any manual adjustment.

In autumn the EU falls back on the last Sunday of October. The US falls back on the first Sunday of November. For about eight to ten days, Amsterdam is 5 hours ahead of New York again.

The same gap logic applies to any city pair where DST transition dates differ. Amsterdam vs London is the exception: both cities change on the same dates, so the offset stays at 1 hour all year.
